Enhanced Perovskite Solar Cell Performance Using Full Space Device Optimization

A full-space material-independent optimization method to maximize the efficiency of hybrid perovskite solar cell is presented in this paper. The complete design space covers 23 parameters spanning the properties of electron and hole transport materials and contacts, and the thicknesses of all the device layers. The full space optimization identifies the parameters that can achieve the maximum efficiency. It is found that an efficiency of 26.63% can be achieved if the cell is without defects and under AM 1.5 spectrum; this is reduced to 23.42% if the defects are considered. These results can be used to guide the selection of new better matching materials to optimize the design of perovskite solar cell.
