Implementation of Solar Diffuse CIE Model in Ray Tracing Program for Irradiance Calculations

In this work, an accurate representation of the sky radiance has been created in MATLAB using the diffuse daylight standard CIE model and exported to ray tracing software for non-sequential optical simulations. This first-order optical model can be applied to most locations at any time of the day and takes into account the weather conditions and cloud distribution. The solar spectrum is incorporated to take into account wavelength-dependent optical effects present in solar energy applications where diffuse sunlight collection is relevant.
