Accuracy of Solar Simulator Spectral Determination Using Band-Pass Filtering Method

CCD spectrometers have become the industrystandard tools for classifying solar simulator light spectrums, but they have drawbacks. A simpler method is to measure the amount of light present in each relevant band defined by the classification standards directly, by filtering the incident light appropriately and measuring its magnitude with a basic detector. This is much less expensive, and also has some other surprising benefits. The difficult aspect of this method is quantifying and correcting for the uncertainties introduced in the process. These will be outlined in detail in order to build confidence in the accuracy of this approach.
