Higher order mode analysis in WIPL-D: A tutorial

WIPL-D Pro 3D EM Solver, method of moments (MoM) based EM analysis, and optimization tools with a reputation for efficient simulation of electrically large structures, can also be used to analyze the transmission of higher order propagation modes in waveguide filters. This paper describes a method that uses a co-simulation strategy, easily implemented with WIPL-D EM tools, to rapidly obtain accurate S parameter response data for higher order mode excitation of waveguide filter structures.
