Design of broadband Luneburg lens feed manifold

Design of broadband feed manifolds for Luneburg lenses requires intensive numerical calculations that can be time and memory consuming. This paper presents a simple and fast numerical procedure for the estimation of the field of view (FOV) coverage by a lens antenna. Details of the routine are described and the example of the lens having at least 12 dBi directivity within the FOV from 18 to 45 GHz is shown. The lens is fed by a 6×6 feed manifold made of phase center stabilized horns.
