Load analysis effect on grid fault emulator

This paper presents the design of a grid fault emulator (GFE) dedicated to test the effectiveness of different components of laboratory prototype microgrid integrating photovoltaic, wind and storage systems feeding different local loads. The paper discusses GFE design and implementation aspects and focuses on GFE performances when different local loads are available. Special operating conditions such as induction motor starting and battery banks activation are studied. Simulations and experimental results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed emulator.
