Energy management using wireless technologies: A comprehensive study

As with the advancement of human society and rapid growth in population, the need of utilizing energy in an effective manner is required. Self-sufficiency in energy is another concept but the actual need is to manage the consumption of energy in such a way that we could fulfill our present requirements without compromising the needs of future generations. Wireless technologies made this task easy; there are various wireless modules that are developed with time that could monitor and control the flow of electricity effectively; these technologies are based on WSN (Wireless sensor networks). This paper focuses on two similar kind of wireless modules used to conserve electricity, namely; EMRISE and VADNET; backed with comprehensive case studies.
