Microspheres and microbubbles for chemical and biomedicine optical sensing

The coupled mode theory is exploited for developing a complete model for the design of microsphere and microbubble sensing set-ups. The home-made computer code is validated via the comparison of the numerical results with the experiment. It can be used to design and refine novel set-ups for sensing such as to predict the sensing characteristics at different wavelengths and for different chemical/biological contaminants.
