NotifySec (A secured notification infrastructure)

A novel idea of this paper is to provide a proof of concept for secured notification infrastructure for an effective communication in an organization. Currently, for notification, legacy notice boards, paper and manpower are being significantly used. Recently, some organizations have started to use third party social mobile applications for the notification purpose, putting the organization's private information into the risk of improper utilization. In this work, using our proposed “NotifySec-HTTPS-webpage”, an admin can frame a message which is sent to the organization server for authentication. Further, the users of the organization can pull the notification from the server using “NotifySec” mobile application. In our methodology, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol for communication between the server and the “NotifySec” using “OpenSSL” open-source software. Our proposed “NotifySec” works in “pull-model” at user end, for secured downloading of the notification. Hence, our proposed infrastructure is the first of its kind for secured communication within an organization.
