Eight phase MIBC for high step down ratio with closed loop control

This paper presents the design and analysis of eight phase modified Interleaved Buck converter (MIBC) with high step down conversion ratio and low voltage stresses. The proposed converter is applicable for high current applications. The switches are connected in series in the proposed eight phase MIBC along with the coupling capacitors in the power path. The ripple current of each inductor are very low compared to the conventional IBC. The modes of operation, design and analysis of eight phase MIBC is incorporated with the closed loop PI control technique. The performance analysis is compared for the eight phase MIBC with and without closed loop PI control technique. The performance analysis is carried out using MATLAB simulink software.
