Product Development as a Model for Career Development: Tgavalekos Serves as a "Rising Star" [Women to Watch]

Nora Tgavalekos is chief software engineer for Corporate Engineering at Raytheon Company, a leader in defense, civil government, and cybersecurity solutions. Referred to as a "rising star," Nora was named to this position in 2016 after several years working in different capacities on the Sea-Based Radar (XBR) program. She has been a flight test director, a design and analysis lead, and a deputy integrated product team lead. She also led the radar discrimination team, where she earned a patent for her work developing the technologies that allow the XBR to discern targets among other real-world clutter. Her work earned her the honor of being named to Aviation Week's "40 Under Forty" in the aerospace industry.
