A dual wideband monopole antenna for GSM/UMTS/LTE/WiFi/and lower UWB application

In this paper a dual wideband monopole antenna is proposed for various wireless applications such as GSM, UMTS, LTE, WiFi, WiMax and lower UWB application. It is designed using two sickle shaped parallel radiator patch, feed by single microstrip feed line, defected ground plane, and rectangular slot in ground plane. The simulation and measured result shows that it has impedance bandwidth (S

<; - 10) of 60.46% over (1.5-2.8 GHz) and 60.86% over (3.2-6 GHz). The proposed antenna design has gain between 1.0 to 4.0 dBi. It is designed using low cost lossy FR4 substrate with relative permittivity of 4.3 and it has compact volume of 57×37.5×0.8 mm

. The result and design makes the proposed antenna suitable for mobile/wireless and lower UWB applications.
