Five points method of calibration for six-port receivers

This paper presents a new calibration technique for linear six-port based receivers. It is shown that only five arbitrary phase shifters with known phase shift values are required for accurate phase calibration of the receivers. Limitations and advantages of the calibration procedure are highlighted. The technique is experimentally validated with the help of a fabricated six-port receiver and four Schottky based detectors at 10 GHz.
