Testing of Durstenfeld's algorithm based optimal random interleavers in OFDM-IDMA systems

Several interleavers have been applied and tested in advanced multiple access systems such as interleave-division multiple-access (IDMA) and its variant systems for determining the optimum choice of interleavers. Random interleavers (RI) are still the best choice as it facilitates an unbiased uniform distribution of user data for burst error control. In this short paper, we have applied Durstenfeld's data shuffle algorithm i.e. a form of modern Fisher-Yates algorithm for random interleaver generation instead of classical Fisher-Yates or any other random interleaver generation algorithm and tested its performance in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing based IDMA (OFDM-IDMA) system under simplest possible parameters consideration.
