A multi-port high step-Up DC-DC converter with reduced normalized voltage stress on switches/diodes

This paper proposes a modular high step-up structure for Non-Isolated Non-Coupled-Inductor based Multi-Input dc-dc Converters (NINCIMIC). Compared with recently presented NINCIMICs, the proposed topology uses less number of components (switches, diodes, inductors and capacitors) for producing the same voltage gain, which can lead to reduced total size, cost, loss and complexity. In other words, proposed topology can produce higher voltage gains, using the same number of components. In spite of high voltage gain, proposed topology has low Normalized Voltage Stress (NVS) on switches/diodes. Continuous input currents is another important benefit of proposed topology. Operational modes and steady-state analysis of proposed topology for continuous inductor current mode, have been presented. Then, to illustrate the unique merits of proposed topology, it has been compared with some of existing counterparts. Finally, the two-input version of proposed topology has been modeled and simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC, to validate its proper performance.
