Enhancing password security using cyclic group matrix

Password authentication is first level of security which is most of the time, being compromised when ever any intruder attacks an application. In case if password is strong enough the threat to security can be reduced. With more complex password, least is the possibility that attacker will guess the correct string. In this paper as an application of group theory a new cyclic group matrix based password security technique is proposed. As a result of applying this security mechanism the risk of cracking the password is more minimised and hereby enhances the password security.
