Enhancing the high pass FIR filter design using fractional fourier transform

In signal processing, the signal received at the receiver is corrupted mainly because of factors which are distortion, blur and/or noise. So the issue is to wipe out such sorts of corruptions. So to overcome this drawback the concept of filtering in fractional Fourier domain is introduce. In this paper, a new method is proposed with the help of rectangular window and fractional Fourier transform to design high pass FIR filter. The benefit of proposed method is by changing the rotation angle of Fractional Fourier transform (FrFT), we can tune the transition width and stop band attenuation. In this paper, a relationship is developed between the magnitude response and the rotation angle. In a conventional method of FIR filter design, to tune the filter for variable frequencies, the coefficients of FIR filter are recalculated. Hence by using proposed technique which is based on fractional Fourier transformation, the magnitude response of FIR filter is tuned by changing rotation angle without changing the coefficients of FIR filter. So the filter design algorithm is not required in proposed algorithm.
