Complex approach to selecting priority lines of business by an enterprise

Any strategic decision, including related to the selection of the priority lines of business must be taken by a company given a number of factors: attractiveness of the external environment, capability to achieve external and internal advantages, probability of risks. Complex approach allows simplifying the selection procedure and substantiating the most efficient strategic decision. Currently there are no developed tools to do this, that is why this issue is topical and very important for any enterprise. The purpose of this study is to develop tools that allow you to choose the priority lines of the company's activities or strategic business areas (SBA), taking into account many factors of the external and internal environment. This paper proposes a complex approach to solving this problem based on the Boston consultative group (the BCG matrix) and strategic management accounting matrix. The basis of the proposed complex approach to the selection of priority activities is the use of various multidimensional matrix tools, with the help of which it is possible to comprehensively analyze the SBA. The complex approach proposed in the paper allows to efficiently solve the tasks set and to level out the disadvantages of traditional tools. This approach provides an opportunity to select the priority lines of business by an enterprise based not only on qualitative analysis, but also on the quantitative assessment of effectiveness, while all indicators are evaluated in a complex.
