Connectivity analysis in vehicular communication for safe transportation systems

Network Connectivity in VANETs may degrade drastically during high speed and sparse traffic. In this work, we are analyzed the network connectivity behavior with transmission range. We use an equivalent traffic model based on queuing theory to investigate the network connectivity in VANET environment. We are taken into consideration only communicated vehicles because they are equipped with wireless devices with communication technologies in the vehicular network. Network connectivity and performance in presence of RSUs is also analyzed. The proposed connectivity analysis can be utilized to find out the optimum values of their transmission range to achieve a required degree of network connectivity in vehicular environment.
