Video streaming over HetNets with LTE-WiFi integration in radio level

The LTE technology of cellular network is based on the licensed spectrum which is fixed and insufficient to satisfy the present user demand. The Bandwidth aggregation of LTE and WiFi networks offers an attractive opportunity for high bandwidth demanding applications such as high definition video streaming. This paper presents an algorithm for High Definition Video streaming over HetNets with LTE-WiFi Integration in Radio level (LWIR). The algorithm LWIR gives the decision to choose the LTE or WiFi networks on the fly at the receiving eNodeB with respect to the available bandwidth in each network and required bandwidth for high definition video transmission. The objective of the algorithm LWIR is to achieve the high-quality video streaming over HectNets. To achieve this objective, the delay of packet transmission from eNodeB to the receiving UE is considered as decision parameter, instead of considering the delay in packet transmission from sender to receiver. Moreover, this algorithm helps to achieve overall less packet loss with the efficient and effective use of both bandwidths.
