Assessment of environmental and governance sustainability of Iraqi middle provinces

This research is part of a larger study regarding building the integrated framework for sustainable development of urban planning for Iraqi provinces. The study area covered 7 Iraqi middle provinces. The research aims to assess sustainability for two dimensions of sustainability: the environmental dimension and the government dimension. The environmental and government sustainability assessment was based on the construction of a hierarchy framework with two levels (level of categories and level of indicators). The environmental dimension consisted of 7 categories and 33 indicators. The government dimension consisted of 6 categories and 17 indicators. The Sustainability Index was found using the Multi criteria Analysis (MCA) method and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP).
