A Passive Compressive Device Associated With a Luneburg Lens for Multibeam Radar at Millimeter Wave

A 4 × 1 passive compressive device (PCD), which works at millimeter wave, is proposed in this study. In a passive manner, the device allows to compress the signals from four separated channels into a single channel. The PCD is a threedimensional cavity that ensures each channel to be decorrelated with each others. Associated with a Luneburg lens, this allows to generate four distinct beams that are focused in different sectors. This is a multibeam real aperture radar configuration that allows to detect targets in real time. The configuration is validated by measurements.
