Abstract:

Taxonomies or classifications of games have already become an important field of research. Many researchers from industry and academia have contributed to classify games on the basis of different parameters. The previous taxonomies are built for specific purposes, but they do not consider the structure of games. A very few classifications, known so for, are specific to mobile games. A game may be composed of different levels or parts. Similarities and differences among those parts play an important role in understanding and developing similar games. We propose a new taxonomy on the basis of structural similarities of mobile games. We build a mathematical foundation for our taxonomy and devise some categories of games. The simplicity of our proposed taxonomy helps researchers to understand the structure of games.
