Automobile Electronic Control Network Design Based on CAN Bus

As electronic control network plays an important role in automobile design, in this paper we aim to introduce CAN bus in the design of Automobile electronic control network. In CAN bus, each node can send and receive messages, but, not at the same time. Particularly, a message or data frame contains an identifier, which represents the priority of the message with eight bytes. The data frame of the CAN bus is utilized for the data transmission, and there are two types of data formats: 1) Base frame format (11 bits), and 2) Extended frame format (29 bits). Considering the utilization of the CAN bus system may increase the system cost, we choose the LIN bus to replace CAN bus when the system load is not high. The automobile electronic control network is designed based on CAN bus together with Lin bus, and instrument control unit is exploited to connect several modules, such as engine, ABS system, Automatic transmission, Safety air bag, EPS control, Car light, central door lock control, Tire pressure control, air conditioning control, door control, and so on.
