Design of reverse-DCSK for chaos based communication system

In this paper, a reverse differential chaos shift keying (RE-DCSK) system is proposed for reliable and high data rate non-coherent chaotic communication with low cost. RE-DCSK sends reference signals in the first time slots as in the conventional DCSK, and makes an improved design in the second time slot, where the time reverse unit strengthens the autocorrelation of chaotic signal and the sum of two orthogonal signals serves as information bearing signal. Without any extra cost of complexity, the proposed system allows double transmission rate and improves communication security as well in comparison with DCSK. To verify the effectiveness, the theoretical bit error rate (BER) expression is analyzed over Rayleigh fading channel and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. The BER performance of the proposed system outperforms that of DCSK and correlation delay shift keying (CDSK) systems over AWGN channel.
