Electricity market decision support system for power plants

With the introduction of electricity market, the production mode of power industry will be gradually changed from planning mechanism to market mechanism. To adapt to the market situation, power plants or power companies (independent power provider, IPP) need to strengthen their production management and cost management to get more benefits, meanwhile another way to increase income is to optimize their bidding strategies. This paper presents a decision support system for power plants, which comprises 8 subsystems: cost management system, production management system, forecast and decision system, local data acquisition system, market data acquisition system, settlement system, bidding management system and system configuration.
