Polarization phenomena of aortic tissues: influence of biochemical extractions on the protein dynamic

Cardiovascular tissues are complex materials primarily composed of structural proteins: collagen, elastin and glycoproteins. Nowadays, they are widely studied for the understanding of vascular pathologies, such as atherosclerosis, and for the conceiving of durable bioprostheses. If the collagen structure is well characterized, few researches have been performed on the thermoelectric properties of these two fibrous proteins. In this work we propose to examine the dielectric response of elastin and collagen in aortic tissues and to follow their evolution upon biochemical treatments.
