Research of the constructions of conductors on flexible carriers

At this time stretchable electronics is an actively developing field in the world. Advantages of products made on a stretchable base are in the opportunity of compensating big deformations while, at the same time, keeping the functionality. One of the relevant tasks is the development of technological processes for conductor formation on elastic carriers. Research was conducted to confirm feasibility of forming traces capable of stretching and bending over a period of time based on the developed technology, which will be presented herein. Domestic and foreign organic silicon materials were used as the base. Simulation results of different conductor forms and constructions on plastic materials (PDMS, SIEL, and SILAGERM) are provided. Current research focused on conductor forms such as: “horseshoe” meander, “zigzag” meander, a “wavy” meander, etc. These forms proved to be much more stable while applying pressure. Simulations were carried out on stretching, compression and bending.
