Real-time diagnostic system for submerged semiconductor devices using energy band gap determination

The aim of this study is to develop and implement a real-time monitoring system to diagnose various semiconductor devices operating underwater. The system will measure junction voltage and current to determine energy band gap of semiconductor device. LEDs were employed as DUT to represent semiconductor device. DUTs were submerged, heated and cooled to mimic underwater operating conditions. The validity of proposed system was carried out by comparing our results to known value of green and red LEDs. With simple and friendly user interface, the experimental result successfully shows that the measurement system can produce highly reliable data of energy band gap and can be apply to any semiconductor device.
