Editorial Toward Faster Publishing and Shorter Turnaround Time

As you all have heard our impact factor has developed very well and is now at 3.14. In addition, we are also reaching higher positions in the open access popularity and JEDS is now the 3
^rd
largest IEEE OA journal (October 2017). We have already seen the increased attention to publish in our journal. This puts of course a higher pressure on our editors and reviewers. I’m planning to recruit a few more editors during the year to cover the increased manuscript flow and also to widen the range of subject fields that we have within the EDS. We already have a rather competitive turnaround time from submission to publish but things can always be faster. The requested response time is down at 2 weeks for review of regular contributions. Let’s keep as a promise to fight any unnecessary delays.
