Tide level forecast using grammatical evolution

Tide level forecast is a vital part of maritime-activities. A change in tide level can pose many impacts in a certain field such as flood risk, marine navigation, coastal structures, fisheries, and recreations. We apply Grammatical Evolution (GE) forecasting tide level for handle the uncertainty of this marine movement using data from the past. Grammatical evolution (GE) is one of optimization technique based on evolutionary computation. GE optimize programs such as mathematical equation. Experimental results proved that the applicability of GE using long-term time series can be used to predict tide level. GE with best optimum function is able to predict tide level.
