Bliss BOT for pharmaceutical inspection

Blister packing is typically used by Pharmaceutical companies to package tablets and capsules. The production of medicine has increased a lot in recent days, During the time of production there may be damages like breakage, cracks present in the tablets or capsules. Consumption of these damaged tablets may cause some problem in skin, eyes and mouth. Given the need of accuracy and flawlessness with regards to the products as well as the packaging in the pharmaceutical industry, these blister packs need to be checked thoroughly. Our project, bliss bot which is installed on the packaging line, is the most efficient way to inspect and verify all the elements of a blister pack. Our project is an image processing based blister pack inspection system as it allows easy inspection, with minimal operator interference. Manual inspection is a very challenging task because a vast amount of different pharmaceutical products that is tablets and capsules are produced, hence Image processing plays a major role in automation of visual inspection. We used feature detection technique and template matching technique in digital image processing for the detection of defective tablet strips. Python with open CV is used for image processing and ArduinoUNO is used for the design of hardware.
