Computational modelling of biosignal-based occupancy sensing system using Doppler radar

Research work towards occupancy detection system dates back more than a decade and there has been significant involvement of various sensor techniques especially using prototyping in this field. After reviewing existing mechanism of occupancy detection techniques, we find that there has been significant contribution of Occupancy detection in multiple applications. Similarly, on the other hand, Doppler radar has also been used significantly in healthcare section. Hence, research towards integrating occupancy detection using Doppler radar could increase better possibility of sensing the target. This paper presents a technique that uses intermittent wave signal generated from bio-signals instead of conventional continuous wave signal to achieve a power efficient system. The study outcome was found to possess better performance of sensing with respect to signal quality, processing time and cost-effective computational process for sensing bio-signals using Doppler radar.
