Spoofing and countermeasures for speaker verification: A review

Although automatic speaker verification has advanced significantly, performance of most speaker verification systems still can be affected due to spoofing attacks. This paper provides an overview of some specific vulnerabilities of speaker verification system to different spoofing attacks. To detect such attacks, some devoted countermeasures are also reviewed. Finally, the paper is concluded with potential issues in the existing methodologies that are needed to be addressed.
