Indoor positioning based on FM radio signals strength

Location Based Service(LBS) has become more and more important part in people's life in recent years. The Global Positioning System (GPS) and Bei-Dou satellite navigation system (Bei-Dou) have practically solved the problem of outdoor localization. But they aren't available in indoor environments. In this paper, a low-cost and easy-to-realize positioning system is proposed, which uses FM Radio Signals Strength fingerprinting. This paper introduces the system how to work and three localization algorithms are compared. Through the analysis of the experimental results, the best algorithm is determined and the mean distance error(MDE) is about 2 meters.
