AC Susceptibility of a High-Temperature Superconductor Strip: Field-Dependent Power-Law Flux-Creep Model

The field-amplitude-dependent ac susceptibility χ(H
_m
) and the voltage-current curve V(I) of rectangular samples cut from the same high-temperature superconductor strip are measured at 77 K. The high-H
_m
part of χ(H
_m
) and the high-I part of V(I) can be consistently well simulated by a flux-creep model of power-law dependence of the electric field on a Kim-type magnetic-field-dependent sheet current density. The low-H
_m
and low-I departure from our experiment results from edge damage due to cutting.
