An acquisition and processing method for the key parameters of electromagnetic relays

Electromagnetic relay is a significant key component in automatic control systems, aerospace systems, Dynamic welding, being the principal failure mechanism for contacts, correlates closely to the reliability and electrical life of electromechanical relay applications. In this paper, the acquisition of key parameters of electromagnetic relay is put forward and the acquisition of an-online state key parameters for measurement of the dynamic welding force is also designed. Also, the detailed relationship between the dynamic welding and test parameters is investigated. Next, the impact force and stationary force are well defined with the typical waveforms of contact voltage and dynamic contact force during making process and a special simulation experiment is designed. Finally, the welding force is also defined with the typical waveforms at breaking process and a physical model of contact separation is built for explaining the contact welding process. Microprocessor unit is used to be the control core in the design of parameter tester of electromagnetic relay in order to eliminate man-made and line interference and improve testing accuracy and speed. The various capabilities of the acquisition and processing method of electromagnetic relays could help evaluate the electrical characteristics of different contact materials, and provide a guideline for optimizing the mechanical parameters of relays.
