Planar removable high voltage Vivaldi antenna

The goal of this study is to design an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) antenna for High Power Microwave (HPM) applications. The proposed antenna is optimized in order to handle bipolar input signal levels close to 100 kV while maintaining a global size similar to an A4 sheet of paper. A travelling wave planar Vivaldi antenna has been chosen to limit pulse dispersion but also take advantage of its directivity. The antenna's original aspect is related to its particular high voltage feeding point achieved through a specifically designed THT20 coaxial connector preventing electric disruptions. Without using any balun, it allows a fast and convenient connection to the generator.
