Implementation of voltage doubler circuit using high step-up bidirectional converter

This topology minimizes the number of switches and their associated gate driver components by using one high-frequency transformer that combines a full-bridge circuit on the primary side. The three level voltage doubler circuit is employed on the secondary side. The voltage stresses on transformer windings are reduced and conversion ratio is improved with the help of TL-VDR. The capacitance of the switches is used for zero voltage switching(ZVS). In order to actively control the power flow between the load and ultra-capacitor, a dual-active-bridge converter can be utilized. The Conventional phase-shift modulation(PSM)has difficulties in working with a wide range of source voltage levels and power levels. Zero voltage switching operation is implemented for all the power switches. In addition, the pulse-width modulation plus phase-shift control strategies are employed to reduce the MOSFET peak current and decreases the circulating losses. The advantage of the DAB is the possibility to achieve ZVS operation in all switches of DAB converter. However, the ZVS operation range can be lost for light loads. The phase-shift control is used to regulate the power produced by the converter.
