Landmine detector on a slow-wave structure

A novel method of landmines detecting is offered in this paper. The method is based on “pumping” electromagnetic energy from a slow-wave structure in a surrounding medium at the phase velocity exceeding the light speed in the medium. This effect was approved in the physiotherapy and now is offered for detecting the landmines, including the plastic explosives hidden in the soil. Physics and the expected properties of the offered detector are described.
