Improvement of transient characteristics of AC-DC converter connected with HVDC bus

The purpose of this paper is to present the improvement of transient characteristics of ac-dc converter with a digital hysteresis current control. The reactor current detectors are composed of set-reset flip-flop, comparator and RC integrator. The proposed method can detect the peak current and valley current instantaneously using the current detectors. Therefore, it is realized that the improvement of transient characteristics of ac-dc converter. The proposed method shows that the convergence time of output voltage is improved by 90% compared with the digital average current control.
