JudgeMaster: Automated chess movement validator

This paper describes a chess piece arrangement detection and movement validation system that automates the process of recording moves and judging the game according to the rules of chess, which can be used as an automated judge in a real game. Piece arrangements are identified by processing images that are captured by a camera. Initial piece arrangement validation, movement detection and movement validation is done using algorithms. System gives a high level of accuracy when the lighting condition is appropriate. It also describes a simple protocol to send the progress of the game to a remote node.
