Control sensitivity functions of frequency regulation for a one-area power system

Traditional Load Frequency Control scheme constitutes a regulation structure extensively applied in power systems. This paper presents the use of Control Sensitivity Functions in order to describe the dynamical characteristics of both primary and secondary control loops in frequency regulation. Bode plots are employed as the visualization and analysis tool. Results of the frequency-domain analysis illustrate the role of Load Frequency Control and also allow the determination of load disturbance effects on the system output.
