The Origins of the ISSCC: A Brief History

The surviving documentation from the earliest editions of (as it is now called) the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) is rather sparse. However, a few clear points emerge as the history of the ISSCC is charted from the first meeting in 1954 to the present.
