A phase-selection scheme based on spectrum characteristic of transient component

A phase-selection scheme based on spectrum characteristic of natural frequency component is proposed in this paper. Through comparing the spectrum correlation degree of three phases and spectrum energy, the fault phase can be identified. Performance of the proposed protection scheme is analyzed by extensive simulation studies using PSCAD. The simulation results indicate that the scheme based on natural frequency can identify fault types quickly and correctly.
