Convex modeling of the steady state domain of power generators

In order to achieve online dynamic security analysis, initializing simulations with steady states is required. However, inconsistencies exist between static and dynamic data and models. This article proposes a method to chart the (P, Q, V) steady state domain of individual generating unit dynamic model so as to take it into account into static models. The corresponding code was made open-source. The case of a French hydro unit model in Eurostag

is detailed and the results on the whole database of French generating units models is presented. Lastly, a week of state-estimator output is analyzed in order to quantify the inconsistencies.
