A fleet-level selective maintenance model for long-distance highway transportation considering stochastic repair quality

This paper addresses the fleet-level selective maintenance multi-objective optimization problem in a truck fleet, carrying out long-distance highway transportation mission with scheduled stops in highway service area. Based on the waiting strategies in the service area, two scenarios have been considered in the model. To prevent the unwanted break downs on the highway, selected maintenance action will be performed with stochastic repair quality. The novelty of the work lies in the establishment of the dependent maintenance time windows model for the fleet-level selective maintenance problem. The objective functions include mission reliability, preventive repair cost and gap time. Furthermore, a NSGA-II based algorithm was proposed for the multi-objective optimization and a case study was presented.
