Ozone treatment of soil

In this paper, the effect of ozone on soil DNA, acidity, nutrient content, and fungi of soil and that on nematodes and pathogens living in soil were studied as a fundamental study. Then, to apply ozone treatment practically into actual agricultural field in Japan, we developed a mobile ozone treatment system that uses a surface dielectric barrier discharge as ozone generator and is capable of treating ridges automatically. The germination, fruition, growth speed, and total weight at harvest of several kinds of plants cultivated at ozone treated soil were observed and analyzed statistically.
