Fluidic channel device for generating tubular structure in situ delivering nutrients

There are various tubular structures in vivo: blood vessels, intestine, trachea, etc. They have complicated internal structure such as pleats. This paper reports a novel method of generating tubular structures by using a 3D-printed coaxial fluidic channel device which can in situ deliver liquid into the tubular structure concurrency. The device has 3 inlets for material of tubular structures, cross-linker, and culture liquid. The multiple layered tubular structures are generated immediately, extruded out of the outlet. We succeeded in controlling the ratio of the outer diameter and the wall thickness of the tubular structure by altering flow rates into the fluidic channel device.
