The study of in-Situ Measurement simulation test of MOI for the LIDM docking performance test-bed

Low impact docking mechanism (LIDM) docking performance test-bed ('performance test-bed' for short), which mainly provides the test conditions for ground test (such as docking, maintenance and separation), is applied for ground docking performance test of LIDM which used in Lunar Exploration Program. As the MOI of the active and passive end simulators for the performance test-bed must be exactly the same as those of the spacecrafts which the test-bed simulated, there is the great practical significance to measure the MOI of the active and passive end simulators in-situ. In order to realize the in-situ measurement of the MOI of the performance test-bed, the theoretical algorithm of in-situ measurement is firstly investigated based on the model of spring oscillator, and then, the mechanism models of the passive end simulator with or without counterweights are established based on SIMMECHANICS software, which can be used to investigate the vibration cycles of two models under the same spring stiffness by simulation test, finally, the simulated MOI is calculated according to the theoretical model and the simulated vibration cycle. In the paper, the simulated MOI is basically consistent with the default one, which verifies the correctness of the theoretical algorithm. The research is established for the in-situ measurement in the future.
